A Grand Day On The Mountain

John and I had a fantastic several days hiking and climbing on and around Mt. Rainier. Though it rained almost the entire time, we did manage to take advantage of a half-day window of good weather to climb up into the sunshine on the slopes. When we weren't on the slopes, we hiked the old-growth forests and enjoyed the spectacular scenery. I can not think of a much better way to spend a few days of one's life...vertu svalur, y'all

The Cookie Monster

On the way back from Mt. Rainier we were listening to some of my son's tunes and I heard Hate Breed for the first time, singing "I Will Be Heard" and I swear that he sounds just like the Cookie Monster! Listen to it and imagine, if you can, the CM singing that song...I know that we had a lot of fun plugging in cookie-words to the song;-) Now I know what Sesame Street characters do in their retirement...lol

Once Again to the Mountain

Well, we are off again to make the first climb of the season up Mt. Rainier, though probably only up to Camp Muir at 10,000 feet. The snowfields look to be great, though the weather might be a bit of a bother. No worries, we shall not let a little cold, wind and rain/snow deter us. Cya back at the bottom.
