Tomorrow Is THE Day
Well, I know that I have been almost totally absent for the past week or so, but I have been coordinating and putting together all of the technology in our new Professional Development Center. After six whirlwind weeks of wrangling this project together on a tight budget and almost impossible timeline, we are at the eve of our Grand Opening...and I think that we might actually pull it off in fine fashion! We spent until midnight tonight finalizing the installation of the projection system and engineering a mounting system for the videoconference system microphones, with a big assist from Trish on that one;-) The full suite of mutli-media audio-visual equipment has been tested and ready to go, including the totally richter 9.1 surround sound system that we completely re-designed and re-spec'd ourselves...and it does ROCK! We even had to glue in the speaker grills to keep them from blowing off!!! Oh, of course the center has complete network, telephone, CATV and satellite provisioning, along with a complete fire and security monitoring system. Not to mention that our wireless network has been designed to provide full coverage for the courtyard area as well as out into the grassy area on the buildings south side, for those sunny spring days when one wants to go sit in the sun and work. On top of all of that I had to get a custom-designed lectern spec'd and built in the last week and a half, and as long as the camera mount arrives in the morning as expected, it will all be finished by lunch! So, no I have not intended to be distant or scarce, there just has been no time for anything but work and sleep. Hopefuly I will have it all successfully behind me by this time tomorrow and back to some semblance of a life;-)...krossleggjafingur...Yfir og út
