Lest We Forget...

I know that everyone who possesses at least a shred of human compassion has been following the continuing saga of our brethern in Asia who have been visited upon by nature's wrath in the form of the recent tsunami. I must say for myself, however, that I find myself continually overwhelmed by intense feelings of emotion when viewing the horrific images of the suffering that the survivors of this event are experiencing. I am a bit ashamed to admit that I find myself praying not only for the salvation of the victims, but also for the continued safety of my loved ones, that they should never have to experience such a tragedy, though perhaps this is only part of being human. I only know that I now hold those that I love a little closer and am more careful to tell them how I feel as often as the occassion affords itself. Let us not forget those that have lost everything and are sufferring and pause to appreciate that which we have and those whom we love.
